Madeleine Isaacs commands victory in the NAF Five Star Summer Silver League Qualifier at Codham Park

Madeleine Isaacs triumphed in the NAF Five Star Summer Silver League Qualifier with the sole treble clear on Una Buna at Codham Park Equestrian Centre in her home county of Essex.
“I kept calm, cool and collected and she’s quick across the ground anyway,” said Madeleine, 18, who supplied the second fastest time of the class.
Twenty-seven competitors initially contended the 1.15m track with 15 returning to tackle round two. An eventual 11 made their way into the third and final round against the clock. But clears proved scarce in the jump-off and Madeleine and the 11-year-old Una Buna were the sole partnership to leave all the fences intact and take the win.
Madeleine bought the Dutch-bred Colandra x Lancer II mare a year ago after spotting her on a Facebook advert.
“She was still quite inexperienced and it took six months to get to know each other; she used to stop a lot and I fell off regularly! Now, she’s the loveliest horse ever,” said Madeleine.
Training with Ronnie Jones of Rolex Sport Horses changed the partnership’s direction dramatically.
“Ronnie’s advice helped enormously, he’s a real confidence-giver and I learned to stay calm and think it doesn’t matter if I have a pole down. I’m a totally different rider when he is with me at a show,” added Madeleine.
