Maisie Allsop scores a big win on her London International debut

Maisie Allsop scored a big win in the Voltaire Design Mini Stakes for 148cm ponies on new ride Vaughann De Vuzit.

Maisie only took over the reins on the Dexter Leam Pondi 14-year-old from Madison Seedhouse six weeks ago but the pair have already cemented a partnership.

The 12 starters were halved to six for the jump-off with Ruby Barrs taking an early lead on Casper XXIII. But Maisie rode with confidence to wipe an incredible four sec from the time as Dave Allsop’s Vaughann de Vuzit matched her enthusiasm. Last to go Izabella Rogers beat the winning time by a tiny fraction but the first element of the double fell to drop Neil 55 to third.

“I just tried to have a go and have some fun,” said Maisie, who was making her debut at the London International Horse Show in the ExCeL Arena. “I couldn’t believe the atmosphere and I never thought I’d win, it felt unreal. “I’ve only had Vaughann since October and we’ve only done three shows together, but he is the kindest pony and to come here and win today is amazing.”
