Nicole Lockhead-Anderson triumphs at the Voltaire Design U25 British Championship Qualifier at Aintree Equestrian Centre

The first Voltaire Design U25 British Championship Qualifier of the 2022 season was held at Aintree Equestrian Centre and was won by Nicole Lockhead-Anderson from Kincardineshire, Scotland, riding Chilli, owned by Thomas Williams.

37 starters came forward to contend for a place in the U25 British Championship Final at the 2022 London International Horse Show in December.

The course proved challenging for some riders, with only eight combinations producing the clear round needed to get them into the jump off. Six pairs jumped a further clear, so it would be down to speed to determine who would win the ticket to the final. It was Nicole Lockhead-Anderson who navigated the 10 year-old mare around the jump off in the quickest time, taking a flyer to the last fence. The pair finished with a double clear in an unbeatable time of 33.24 seconds, just 0.46 seconds ahead of second place.

Speaking about her win, Nicole said: “It’s such a great venue to come, there was an amazing atmosphere and it felt great to get the win. I’m really looking forward to London International Horse Show now.

“I’ve only been riding Chilli for 4 months, but she is incredible. She is an absolute fighter, and she tries so hard”.
