Paul Barker takes the win in the Winter Grand Prix at Northcote Stud

This weekend saw Northcote Stud host their Winter Classic Show with the Winter Grand Prix taking place on Saturday 22nd January and it was Paul Barker from Northallerton in North Yorkshire, riding Green Grass owned by Hannah Barker who took the win.

From a keen starting field, just six combinations jumped clear in the first round over course designer Nigel Jess’s twelve-fence track for a place in the jump off.  With speed on his side, Paul made light work of the eight-fence jump off track to cross the finish line in just 32.60 seconds, taking the win with nearly 2 seconds to spare.

Second place went to Robert Murphy riding High Quality III owned by Lisa Holmes with a solid double clear that stopped the clock on 34.07 seconds. Third place was filled by Yazmin Davis & Zanbowa Z who produced the final double clear of the class in a time of 36.64 seconds.
