Sophia Hogan and Jesse Mae Harmony win the Pony Bronze league 138cm & Under Championship

In the final class of the day, Sophia Hogan from Deinbigh excelled to win the Pony Bronze League 138cm & Under Championships at the British National Showjumping & Academy Championships show 2021. At 11 years old, Sophia, riding the 9 year-old roan mare Jesse Mae Harmony, put in a show stopping performance.

From a starting field of 52 combinations, an impressive 20 partnerships made it through to the second round which saw six to go through and contest the jump off.

Sophia and Jesse Mae Harmony, rode a precise and fast round finishing in just 31.70 seconds. When asked about the win, Sophia explained “the course was good for Jesse, it gave her plenty of space to gallop which kept her pace!”

Thrilled to be crowned winner, Sophia said her favourite thing about Jesse is “her great personality!” Proud mum to Sophia said she was absolutely delighted to see her daughter win the title, along with her other daughter, Georgia Hogan, winning the Bronze League 128cm Final as well today.

Close on Sophia’s tail was Sienna Palin riding Calusa taking second, and Jemima Summer Cooper with Ardenteggle Might in third.

The Bronze and Silver Pony/Rider Combination League was introduced by British Showjumping in 2014 and allows all pony riders to be able to track their progress on a regional and national league table.
