Tabitha Kyle wins the National 138cm Championship Final
Tuesday 03 August 2021
Competition was hard fought in the National 138cm Championship Final with only six going through to the jump off from eighteen starters. It was Tabitha Kyle aged 14 from Loughborough in Leicestershire and Playboy Van De Zoetewei who were crowned the Champions bringing competition to a close for the day in Championship Arena 1.
Describing her thought process behind each of her three ponies’ rounds, Tabitha commented: “Playboy was in first who is good in a jump-off, so I could put the pressure on the others. Being in the lead meant that I could push [Mister Proper], who also went clear. [Another Barney] is younger and less experienced, so I wanted to give him an easier round knowing the other two had gone clear, but he stepped up as well.”
Tabitha also took second and third place in this class with Mister Proper and Another Barney respectively. Tabitha and Playboy Van De Zoetewei last competed at Bicton, where they won all four of their classes and Tabitha also recently represented Great Britain at the Children’s European Championships in Lisbon where she won Team Bronze.
