Wolsingham Show: A Must-Visit Destination for Showjumping

The countdown is on to the Wolsingham Show, taking place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September, with two days of exciting showjumping and a fantastic £14,000 overall prize fund up for grabs.

As the oldest show in England, Wolsingham Show has a proud history, but its showjumping has gone from strength to strength in recent years, attracting many of the sport’s top riders to compete across the weekend.

A huge amount of work goes into ensuring the very best conditions for competitors, with the ground preparation being a key priority. The team has been working hard to ensure the going is perfect, with regular watering as required right up until the Show, giving riders and horses the best possible surface to perform on.

Saturday is set to be a highlight, with the final opportunity for riders to qualify for the HOYS Grade C, before the action builds to the prestigious 1.45m Major Grand Prix on Elite Saturday.

The showjumping is proudly sponsored by Croxdale Motor Group, with the Grand Prix offering an impressive £6,000 prize fund, including £2,000 to the winner. The successful rider will also have the honour of being presented with the Earl of Durham Trophy, a prestigious trophy that has been awarded for more than 60 years.

Following the Grand Prix, competitors can take on the MGL Group Accumulator, which boasts a prize fund of more than £1,500, providing another exciting opportunity for riders to finish Saturday on a high.

Sunday offers something for everyone, with classes ranging from Discovery through to 1.30m, ensuring another action-packed day of competition.

Getting to Wolsingham Show couldn't be easier, with fantastic road links and the A689 passing directly by the Show gates.

With top-class competition, excellent facilities, a fantastic prize fund and a long-standing reputation, Wolsingham Show is one not to miss this September.
