NEW FOR 2026 – ROYAL HIGHLAND SHOW QUALIFIER FOR SCOTTISH ACADEMY MEMBERS

We are delighted to announce the Royal Highland Show have kindly invited 6 lucky Scottish Academy Members the opportunity to compete at the infamous show on Sunday 21st June 2026.

The qualifier for this Final will be held at the Scottish Academy Camp Show on Friday 10th April at Morris EC.

Criteria and Eligibility below:

 

ROYAL HIGHLAND SHOW DEVELOPMENT CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER 2026

Table A7. Speed 300mpm. Start Height 90cm

This competition is run under British Showjumping Club Rules.

Open to British Showjumping Junior, Club or Just For Schools Members age 12-16 years old on the day of the Final (21st June), riding Ponies not exceeding 148cm. Competitors must be a member of an Academy in Scotland and have attended a minimum of 3 Academy sessions since September 2025.  Stallions are not permitted.

Numbers to Qualify:  Top 6 eligible Pony/Rider Combinations to qualify for the Final at the Royal Highland Show 2026 (RHS).

Any Rider who qualifies for a RHS British Showjumping Pony Final in 2026 is no longer eligible to compete in the RHS Development Championship Final 2026.  Qualification will be offered to the next in line. 

Any Rider who has competed in a RHS British Showjumping Pony or Horse Final in 2024 or 2025 is not eligible.

The Final will be restricted to one pony per rider as per rule 290.17.

The Final at RHS: Start Height 90cm, British Showjumping Club rules apply.  The Final is Kindly Sponsored by Clyde Vet Group Equine Hospital

British Showjumping Boots / Leg Protection Ruling applies to this class, in accordance with Rule 102.15. Failure to comply will incur disqualification.

 

Results will be verified by British Showjumping.
