Please welcome Helen Hughes as the new Gloucestershire Area Rep.
Tuesday 08 June 2021
Helen has been riding for thirty years starting off in gymkhana and unaffiliated jumping and progressing to British Showjumping at the age of twelve. She has competed in ponies, qualifying for various championships and jumping the biggest of tracks in the HOYS qualifiers.
Once on horses Helen competed from British Novice up to 1.30m. She has just retired her super mare Ruxton Contessa to stud duties after winning many classes and grand prix, competing at championships and qualifying for The Bronze League finals at HOYS in 2017. Now producing young horses, Helen is a regular competitor at all Gloucester’s venues.
Helen has been a member of the Gloucester’s Area Committee for nearly four years, updating and posting results and keeping the social media pages up to date with what’s happening in Gloucestershire. She has helped source sponsorship for area shows, attended meetings, helped at events, attending training. I have great communication with a lot of our members from juniors and seniors.
Helen is very passionate about our sport and wants to give the support show jumping and its members throughout the Gloucester Area deserve.
