Equiyd National Amateur Second Rounds at Northallerton Equestrian Centre

Competitors gathered at Northallerton Equestrian Centre for the penultimate Equiyd National Amateur Second Round competition last weekend, where riders competed for valuable qualifying places at the Championship Show, to be held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in November. The event featured two full days of jumping action with well-built and flowing courses designed by Tracey Strangeways, testing skill, accuracy, and determination.

The show began with the 85cm qualifying class, which saw 18 starters come forward into the arena, with 12 combinations progressing through to the jump-off where the qualifying tickets would be determined by the clock. A total of five double clears were recorded in this competitive class, and it was Anneli Lister who took top honours was riding her own Miss Southburn Sarsaparilla, producing two superb clear rounds to win in a time of 34.02 seconds. Paul Nicholson with Billy Jorn secured second place in 38.26 seconds, while Abi Robinson and Killeavy Warrior completed the top three in 40.67 seconds
