The Summer Pony Premier at Arena UK produced an exciting weekend of top-class pony showjumping, with riders battling it out for prestigious titles and coveted Horse of the Year Show qualifications across fiercely contested classes.
Amy Capper Claims Pony Showjumper of the Year Victory
The Pony Showjumper of the Year saw 31 competitive rider combinations come forward to take on Neil Foster’s course, with every second counting in the race for the top honours.
It was Amy Capper who emerged victorious aboard Nicola Capper’s Oscar Van De Beekerheide after producing a superb clear round in a winning time of 48.66 seconds. Close behind in second place was Henry Leggott riding Blossom’s Big Claim, who also delivered a faultless performance to stop the clock in 49.26 seconds.
Anya Dewey Clarke Dominates 128cm HOYS Qualifier
The 128cm Horse of the Year Show Qualifier attracted an impressive field of 31 rider combinations, all eager to secure their place at one of the sport’s most prestigious championships.
After a highly competitive jump-off, it was Anya Dewey Clarke who took the win riding Anna Clarke’s Jim (Cobid). The pair produced a fantastic clear round in a speedy time of 35.72 seconds to secure the top spot.
Second place went to Chloe Capper riding Dooneens Electric, who also jumped clear and finished in 41.35 seconds.
Lucia Caroline Takes Top Honours in 138cm HOYS Qualifier
Competition remained fierce in the 138cm Horse of the Year Show Qualifier, where 37 rider combinations came forward to tackle the course.
Lucia Caroline proved unbeatable aboard Katie Sawers’ Chacha Real Smooth, with the pair delivering a brilliant clear round in 37.51 seconds to claim victory.
Poppy Dorise secured second place riding Go Fast D’argan after crossing the finish clear in 39.74 seconds, while Charlie Barker finished third aboard Another Barney with a clear round in 40.26 seconds.
Rounding out the top four was Annabel Widdowson riding Unsphinx Dhurl Vent, who also produced a clear performance in 41.17 seconds.
The Summer Pony Premier once again showcased the incredible standard of pony showjumping talent, with riders delivering outstanding performances throughout the weekend at Arena UK.
