Megan Hill and My Maisy Secure STX- UK Pony British Novice Victory at Stainsby Grange
Friday 15 May 2026

The STX-UK Pony British Novice Second Round at Stainsby Grange provided an exciting day of competition at the weekend, as riders came forward to take on Peter Allen’s challenging course.
The technical track proved influential throughout the opening rounds, with riders needing accuracy and consistency to keep qualification hopes alive. Only three combinations managed to produce those all-important double clears to secure a place in the jump-off.
Taking the top honours was Megan Hill riding Jane Hill’s My Maisy. The pair delivered a confident and stylish performance in the final round, producing the fastest treble clear of the day in a time of 35.30 seconds.
Second place went to Tilly Porch aboard Strawberry Sloe, who secured the only other treble clear of the competition, stopping the clock in 37.02 seconds.
“This was our first time at Stainsby Grange and Maisy jumped brilliant for me the second round. She was fantastic in the jump off and landed perfectly after fence thirteen which meant we could make the turn which lead to our win. I am so proud of Maisy; she always tries her best for me, and I am very excited to be going to the championships!
“We only started doing British Showjumping in November last year, so we are very pleased to be doing so well already. We have had Maisy for six years, but I have only been riding her for eighteen months. She is a huge part of our family.” Megan said.
Following another competitive Second Round, attention now turns towards the British Showjumping National Championships in August, where qualified combinations will compete for the championship title.
